[Asia Economy Reporter Sumi Hwang] A group of about 100 people broke into a convenience store in Los Angeles (LA), USA, and caused a disturbance.

According to foreign media reports such as CBS News on the 19th (local time), the incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. on the 15th at a 7-Eleven convenience store near Harbor Gateway. On that day, the group of about 100 people rushed into the convenience store and stole displayed products. They quickly grabbed snacks and drinks, and some took cigarettes and lottery tickets. They also threw items at each other and damaged the checkout counters.

As a result, the convenience store was turned into a chaotic scene in the blink of an eye. Convenience store employees and regular customers who were at the scene reportedly stood quietly in the corners of the store, trembling in fear.

The crimes of this group were fully captured on the convenience store's closed-circuit television (CCTV). The footage shows many of them smiling broadly with their faces exposed, while some covered their faces by pulling down their hats.

Prior to the crime, it is known that an unidentified group occupied the streets at an intersection near the convenience store. They blocked the intersection and obstructed vehicle traffic. Foreign media also reported that a flash mob occurred, where an unspecified number of people gathered, performed certain actions, and then dispersed.

Local police consider them to be the same group. The police stated, "We are identifying and arresting these individuals based on CCTV footage," and "They will be charged with theft, looting, and property damage." They also urged citizens to provide related information, saying, "People nearby could be suspects."
