[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank announced on the 19th that it conducted a healthy meal sharing volunteer activity at the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Senior Welfare Center on the 18th.
Supporting the healthy summer of local seniors, Gwangju Bank started a Samgyetang meal service volunteer activity on July 13 at the Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Deobureorak Senior Welfare Center, and then continued healthy meal service volunteer activities at Mokpo City in Jeonnam and the Gwangju Buk-gu Senior Welfare Center.
At the Seo-gu Senior Welfare Center, where the fourth volunteer activity took place, due to infection prevention measures amid the recent resurgence of COVID-19, the volunteer activity was conducted by packaging and directly distributing 350 servings of herbal Samgyetang instead of serving meals.
About 20 people, including Song Jong-wook, president of Gwangju Bank, Gwangju Bank executives and employees, and university student ambassadors, participated in the volunteer activity, and Kim Yi-gang, head of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, also joined to deliver healthy snacks such as Gijeong rice cakes, lotus root bugak, and red ginseng candy along with Samgyetang.
Song Jong-wook, president of Gwangju Bank, said, “It is regrettable that we could not continue the meal service volunteer activities due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and instead shared healthy meals, but it was a meaningful time for all executives and employees to deliver warm support messages to each senior.” He added, “As a representative bank of Gwangju and Jeonnam, we will continue volunteer activities for the underprivileged in the region and spread a corporate culture of sharing and volunteering in the local community.”
