Wonju, Emerging Residential Hub, to Launch 'Hillstate Wonju Restige' for Sale Soon

The areas of Gwanseol-dong and Dangu-dong in Wonju, Gangwon Province, are gaining attention as emerging residential towns in Wonju. With the opening of the Gwanseol Highpass IC scheduled for 2025, transportation conditions will improve, and more than 5,000 new housing units are planned to be supplied in this area just this year, raising expectations for expanded living infrastructure.

According to industry sources, including the ‘Hillstate Wonju Restige’ (975 units) scheduled for sale in August, about eight complexes totaling approximately 5,300 new apartments will be supplied in Gwanseol-dong and Dangu-dong within the year. Once all these complexes are occupied, another residential town is expected to be born in Wonju.

Above all, once the new complexes are occupied, basic living infrastructure is expected to be expanded, and with the planned opening of E-Mart Traders Wonju branch in Wonju Innovation City, convenience is anticipated to improve further.

Moreover, the Gwanseol Highpass IC in the Gwanseol-dong area is set to open in 2025, increasing future value. Once the Gwanseol Highpass IC opens, access from Gwanseol-dong to Innovation City will become much more convenient, and travel to Seoul and other metropolitan areas will be easier, attracting attention from a wide range of demanders.

A local real estate official said, “With major brand apartments and numerous new sales planned in the Gwanseol-dong and Dangu-dong areas, expectations among local residents for the formation of an emerging residential town are rising. Especially since this area boasts a key location completing a large-scale residential hub along with Musil district and Innovation City, there is abundant demand from buyers considering new apartment purchases.”

Meanwhile, in August, Hyundai Construction plans to sell ‘Hillstate Wonju Restige’ in the Gwanseol-dong area of Wonju. This complex will be developed as a large-scale branded complex by a top-tier construction company, offering differentiated product competitiveness compared to nearby complexes.

First, Hillstate Wonju Restige features medium to large-sized floor plans ranging from 84 to 136㎡, applying a maximum 4Bay-4Room layout to maximize openness. Depending on the unit size, spaces such as pantries, dressing rooms, alpha rooms, and powder rooms are arranged to enhance space utilization.
