Gyeongnam Province announced on the 18th that the number of new confirmed cases in the province on the 17th was 11,631.

Among them, 11,563 were local infections, and 68 were overseas arrivals.

There were 5 deaths: one in their 60s, two in their 70s, one in their 80s, and one in their 90s.

The cumulative number of deaths is 1,319, with a cumulative mortality rate of 0.10%.

According to the province, by city and county, Changwon had 1,584 cases, Masan 1,292, Jinhae 711, totaling 3,587 cases in Changwon City; Gimhae City had 1,881 cases; Jinju City 1,452 cases; and Yangsan City 1,415 cases, all exceeding 1,000 cases.

Geoje City had 658 cases, Sacheon City 530, Tongyeong City 364, Miryang City 342, Geochang County 208, Haman County 197, Changnyeong County 181, Hadong County 140, Goseong County 139, Sancheong County 125, Namhae County 123, and Hapcheon County 108.

Hamyang County and Uiryeong County recorded double digits with 99 and 82 cases respectively.

The province stated that the number of confirmed cases in August was 124,753, with a total cumulative confirmed case count of 1,306,164. As of midnight on that day, 102 of the 227 hospital beds available in medical institutions were in use, leaving 125 beds available.

Among them, 78 of 165 intensive care beds were in use, and 24 of 62 dedicated beds were occupied.

According to the province, as of 4:30 PM on the same day, the number of confirmed cases for the day was 7,347, with 7,318 local infections and 29 overseas arrivals.
