[Asia Economy Reporter Myunghwan Lee] Koscom announced on the 18th that it has successfully completed the 'Fintech Internship Course' education, which was promoted as part of the fintech professional workforce training project.
The Fintech Internship Course is a project hosted by the Financial Services Commission and organized by the Korea Fintech Support Center, with Koscom responsible for the practical internship training, running the program for the third consecutive year.
Starting with the first cohort in 2020, the Fintech Internship Course, now in its third year, has been well received by graduates for its differentiation from other training programs. This year, 79 trainees from a total of 49 universities, including three overseas universities, completed the course.
The curriculum applied a flipped learning method combining online and offline formats, and was designed based on Koscom’s new employee training methodology to prepare practical skills required by startups in advance.
Among the graduates, those wishing to participate in internships can gain internship opportunities at leading fintech companies through the 'Fintech Internship Matching Day' event held over two days from the 18th to the 19th. Twenty-eight companies, including Koscom, Quantit, Payhere, Paywatch Korea, and Gitple, are participating as internship companies. The internships will be conducted over three months from September to November.
Hong Wooseon, CEO of Koscom, said, "We expect the Fintech Internship Course, which has been improving in completeness year by year, to establish itself as a training ground for fintech professionals. We will continue to strive to build a virtuous cycle where graduates employed by fintech companies participate as mentors or instructors in this program."
