[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Interpark announced on the 18th that it held a board meeting and appointed Choi Hwiyoung, former CEO of Triple, as the new CEO.
The new CEO Choi is a former reporter for Yonhap News and YTN, and later joined Yahoo Korea, contributing to the establishment of the portal news service.
In 2002, he moved to NHN, serving as the head of planning at the Naver headquarters and later as CEO and president. In 2016, he founded and operated Triple, a hyper-personalized travel platform.
The new CEO Choi plans to combine Interpark's global inventory, network, big data, and AI technologies to expand Interpark's service scope and lead the digital transformation in the travel, performance, and concert sectors.
Interpark stated, "We judged that CEO Choi's understanding of the platform industry and expertise in the travel industry align with Interpark's vision."
CEO Choi said, "I plan to grow Interpark into a technology-based travel and leisure specialized company recognized globally beyond Korea. By adding innovative technologies to Interpark's travel and performance data, we will lead the digital transformation of the travel and leisure industry and proactively respond to travel demand in the 'post-COVID' era."
