[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Andong City will participate in the '2022 Premium Daegu Gyeongbuk Expo' held for three days from the 19th to the 21st at Daegu EXCO, promoting various fields such as administration, culture, tourism, and specialty products.
At this expo, the city plans to actively promote the Three Major Cultural Zones project, which will open on the 31st.
The Three Major Cultural Zones project is a large-scale cultural tourism initiative aimed at developing Gyeongbuk into a world-class historical, cultural, and ecological tourism region by utilizing the three major cultures of Gyeongbuk: Silla, Gaya, and Confucianism.
Among the Three Major Cultural Zones projects, the city has established strategic projects such as Seonseonghyeon Cultural Complex, Yurim Literature Utopia, and Jeontong Bit Tare Gil Ssamm Village. The leading projects, World Confucian Scholars Cultural Park and Korean Culture Theme Park, are scheduled to open on the 31st of this month.
The core facilities of the World Confucian Scholars Cultural Park are the Andong International Convention Center and the World Confucian Culture Museum. Andong City held the inauguration ceremony of Mayor Kwon Ki-chang last month on the 1st at the Andong International Convention Center.
In October, the 16th World Congress of the International Association of Educational Cities and in November, the 18th World Historical Cities Conference, international events with global participants, are scheduled to be held at the Andong International Convention Center.
The Korean Culture Theme Park is themed around the 16th-century Joseon Dynasty Sanseong Village and consists of Sanseong Village, Market Street, Yeonmu Yard, Folktale Theater, and Uibyeong Experience Center, providing a space where visitors can directly experience the identity of Korean history and culture.
An Andong City official stated, “Through this expo, we will focus on attracting tourists to the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions by actively promoting Andong City's administration, culture, tourism, specialty products, and the Three Major Cultural Zones project opening on August 31.”
