[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The floor leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea on the 17th criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol's remarks at the 100-day inauguration press conference as "ultimately a refusal of personnel reshuffle and self-praise without reflection."

Floor leader Park Hong-geun pointed out at the Democratic Party policy coordination meeting that morning, "Out of the 50 minutes of the press conference, 20 minutes were spent boasting about achievements that cannot be accepted, and there was not a single word of apology," adding, "Although the public's voice demanding a comprehensive personnel reshuffle burst like a flood, it was firmly rejected." He continued, "Incompetent personnel loyal to individuals should be replaced as soon as possible," and asked, "What kind of pride is it to never change once appointed?"

He also urged acceptance of a state audit, saying, "The Yoon administration has caused public discontent over the past 100 days and is facing a total crisis," and "It is self-contradictory for the People Power Party to oppose the state audit from the start."

On the same day, the floor leadership launched a full-scale offensive, saying President Yoon's remarks lacked substance. Policy Committee Chair Kim Seong-hwan criticized the press conference remarks, saying, "He himself sent internal criticism messages and caused an emergency situation in the ruling party, yet there was no apology. Questions about stock price manipulation, plagiarism of theses, and the privatization of power by First Lady Kim Keon-hee were completely blocked," adding, "The communication press conference ended in non-communication."

Floor Policy Deputy Leader Wi Seong-gon also called it a "press conference nobody wanted or cared about," saying, "It was a feast of words filled with self-praise and blaming the previous administration." Lawmaker Park Young-su criticized, "It was an embarrassing press conference full of self-justification," adding, "He was elected by the smallest margin in history but is indifferent to people's livelihoods and did not present a roadmap on how to lead the government going forward."

On the same day, Emergency Committee Chair Woo Sang-ho met with reporters after the 13th anniversary memorial service of the late former President Kim Dae-jung and said, "The number one reason the public is disappointed with the Yoon Seok-yeol administration is personnel issues, but it is difficult to understand how they intend to regain public trust without resolving this problem," adding, "Then why hold a 100-day press conference?" He added, "There was no change in stance, no new measures were presented, and they only said they would listen carefully to the public and then left, so it lacks sincerity," and stated, "Even if not a full overhaul, a personnel reshuffle that the public deems appropriate seems necessary."
