Fried chicken is being sold at Emart Seongsu branch in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

Emart's fried chicken uses starch to make the batter thin. Rice flour and more than 15 kinds of natural spices are added, so even after it cools down, cooking it in an air fryer for 5 minutes revives its flavor. According to Emart, after launching the '5-minute chicken' last month, deli chicken sales increased by 26% compared to the same month last year. From the 14th of last month for two weeks, the price was lowered by 3,000 won to 6,980 won.

For this special chicken sale event, Emart prepared 60,000 pieces, which is 10,000 more than the monthly sales volume of the existing 5-minute chicken. Fried chicken will be sold twice a day in the afternoon, 50 to 100 pieces per store. To provide benefits to more customers, only one piece can be purchased per person.

An Emart official said, "Last month, we held a chicken event at the start of the vacation and holiday season, which received great customer response," adding, "We want to offer customers enjoyable benefits again through a special chicken sale at the end of the vacation and holiday season."
