[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 18th that it will carry out the second phase of the Cheer-ups Project to support small business owners struggling with dining management due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Cheer-ups is Lotte Duty Free's representative social contribution campaign aimed at supporting self-employed operators in the food service industry to contribute to regional economic development and tourism revitalization. From 2018 to last year, a total of 62 food service businesses were selected and supported with old signboard replacement, foreign language menu production, and business environment improvement.

For the second phase, Lotte Duty Free recruited a total of 40 food service businesses in the Incheon area. Selected small business owners will receive support such as ▲1:1 customized consulting from dining management experts ▲production of online and offline menus ▲store rebranding ▲content and video production linked with Naver Happy Bean.

The university student supporters, Cheer Love, will also participate. Composed of 15 university students based in Incheon, Cheer Love plans marketing content to be used on delivery applications and online platforms, and posts information about the stores, including menus, food taste, service, and reasons for recommendation, on social networking services (SNS).

Lee Gap, CEO of Lotte Duty Free, said, “Lotte Duty Free has regularized social contribution projects for small business owners and has extended helping hands to neighbors around us for the past five years. This time, with the passionate activities of university student supporters added, we expect to provide even greater support to self-employed business owners in the Incheon area.”
