Business Agreement on Product Research and Development between Hadong Green Tea Research Institute and Partners
CJ Olive Young is revamping the signature product line, the 'Green Tea Line,' of its private cosmetic brand (PB) 'Round Around.'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CJ Olive Young announced on the 18th that it will relaunch the flagship product line ‘Green Tea Line’ of its private cosmetic brand (PB) ‘Round A'Round’.
Round A'Round is undertaking a complete overhaul to improve the quality of the Green Tea Line by changing the origin of its key ingredient, green tea, and switching packaging materials to recyclable ones in line with the essential environmental trend.
The green tea, previously sourced from Jeju and Boseong, will now be directly procured from Hadong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do. To this end, Olive Young signed a business agreement with the Hadong Green Tea Research Institute on the 17th for product research and development (R&D). Approximately 10 tons of Hadong green tea will be used annually in the production of Round A'Round Green Tea Line products, and the Hadong Green Tea Research Institute will conduct various studies to maximize the efficacy of green tea and support product development.
The product packaging has also been changed to an environmentally friendly format. Starting with the flagship product, Green Tea Mild Acidic Cleansing Foam, cosmetic containers use recycled plastic, and secondary packaging (boxes) use recycled paper.
An Olive Young official said, “We differentiated everything from ingredient sourcing to packaging by reflecting Round A'Round’s brand value of using high-quality natural ingredients and pursuing sustainable beauty. We will communicate with customers as a clean beauty brand that benefits both skin and the environment.”
