Samsung Electronics' 'SmartThings' Curious?..."Experience Zones Set Up Nationwide Stores" On the 18th, Samsung Electronics announced that it will introduce 'SmartThings' experience spaces at major stores where customers can directly check out various multi-device experiences. The SmartThings specialized experience zone at Samsung Digital Plaza Gangnam Main Store located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.


[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] Samsung Electronics announced on the 18th that it will introduce 'SmartThings' experience spaces at major stores where customers can directly check various multi-device experiences.


Samsung Electronics opened SmartThings specialized experience zones at 15 Digital Plaza and department store locations nationwide, including Seoul, Gwangju, Daegu, Daejeon, Busan, and Incheon, showcasing how to design and enjoy SmartThings daily life according to different lifestyles. Additionally, integrated display zones linking mobile, TV, and home appliances have been set up in 80 stores to guide customers easily through SmartThings experiences with the help of experience guides.


'SmartThings' refers to the connected device experience that completes one’s lifestyle, including Samsung Electronics products and services as well as compatible external device connections.


The SmartThings experience zones propose convenient living through multi-device connections in six themed spaces: ▲Home Entertainment ▲Home Studio ▲Home Fitness ▲Home Cooking ▲Game Room ▲Pet Care.


Samsung Electronics designed the experience zones considering the main customer demographics visiting the stores. At locations with a high flow of university students, such as the Gangnam main store and Hongdae main store in Seoul, the Game Room and Study Room experience zones are emphasized. At the Suwon Gwanggyo Galleria store, which has many newlyweds, Samsung collaborates with Casamia to demonstrate SmartThings usability in spaces like the living room, kitchen, and dressing room, selling home appliances and furniture together.


Samsung Electronics plans to operate SmartThings utilization courses and the '#YouMake Zone' so customers can design their own experiences. Various one-day courses will be held at Digital Plaza stores and department store cultural centers with SmartThings experience zones, including ▲energy-saving methods using SmartThings ▲air quality management ▲making pet snacks ▲golf lessons using the Galaxy Watch.


Moreover, a custom studio '#YouMake Zone' will be set up in five stores where customers can create accessories expressing their individuality. Smartphones, tablets, and Lifestyle TVs can be decorated with personal ideas, and accessory production using artist collaboration content and eco-friendly materials is possible.


Hyunjung Lee, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics Korea, said, "Samsung Electronics is striving to evolve stores beyond spaces for purchasing products into experiential spaces like playgrounds that customers enjoy visiting," adding, "Through experience zones linked with the 'SmartThings Daily Life Encyclopedia' advertising campaign that shows device connection experiences in real-life scenarios, we hope customers find their own unique SmartThings experiences."
