4·16 Minjoo Citizen Education Center, Memory Hope Youth Video Webtoon Contest

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The 4·16 Democratic Citizenship Education Center is holding the '2022 Memory Hope Youth Video and Webtoon Contest' for elementary and secondary school students nationwide and out-of-school youth.


The Education Center explained on the 18th that the contest will be held from the 23rd of this month to the 19th of next month to commemorate the victims of the 4·16 Sewol Ferry Disaster and to raise civic awareness and safety consciousness.


The contest will be divided into video and webtoon categories. The themes are ▲ Commemoration of the Sewol Ferry Disaster ▲ Civic awareness (order, caring for the vulnerable, environmental protection, etc.) ▲ Safety awareness (respect for life and safety, creating a safe society), among others.


The winning entries will receive the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Superintendent's Award and scholarships.

Jeon Myeong-seon, Director of the 4·16 Democratic Citizenship Education Center, said, "This contest was planned with the meaning of not forgetting and remembering the lessons of the 4·16 Sewol Ferry Disaster," and added, "I hope many students nationwide will participate so that such a tragedy never happens again."
