Dobong-gu Expands 'Parking Enforcement Suspension' for a Vibrant Win-Win Economic City

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) will hold an online job fair, "Iri Onda NET," from August 22 to September 15 to resolve the local companies' recruitment difficulties and provide quality jobs to job seekers despite the COVID-19 crisis.

This year's job fair, "Iri Onda NET," will establish and operate the Seongdong-gu online recruitment center in collaboration with the job portal site Job Korea. Participating companies will post job openings on the recruitment center, and job seekers can apply to their desired companies. Hiring will be conducted after document and interview screening by the companies.

The fair is open to companies wishing to recruit personnel, covering various industries from general office work to IT, marketing, cleaning, security, and caregiving. Priority will be given to companies located in Seongdong-gu, and applications can be submitted through the Seongdong-gu Office website until September 15.

Support for job seekers is also diverse. Anyone in need of employment, including young and middle-aged job seekers, those wishing to change jobs, and specialized high school graduates, can participate in the fair and apply for jobs. Additionally, employment consulting and job description sessions will be held as side events. A total of 30 consulting sessions on resumes, self-introductions, and interviews?common concerns for job seekers?will be conducted in a non-face-to-face format during the event period. On September 5, a customized real-time online lecture on currently preferred job roles will be offered for job preparation students.

For side events, participation is possible after submitting an online application during the event period, and if there are many applicants, registration will close on a first-come, first-served basis.

Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "Although it is a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, I hope that many excellent local companies will participate in this fair to hire good talent, and job seekers will find better jobs, creating an opportunity for everyone to have a happy future."

Parking Enforcement

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will significantly expand the suspension of illegal parking enforcement starting August 22 as the first step in fulfilling the 8th term election pledges.

Currently, Dobong-gu suspends illegal parking enforcement during lunchtime from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM. However, from August 22, illegal parking enforcement near small restaurants along roads with fewer than six lanes will be additionally suspended from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The operating hours of unmanned enforcement CCTV will also be shortened by one hour on weekdays, from the existing 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, excluding children's protection zones. However, the following areas are excluded from the suspension: absolute no-parking zones such as crosswalks, sidewalks, intersection corners, bus stops, and fire hydrants; children's and elderly protection zones where safety accidents are a concern; cases that obstruct traffic flow such as double parking and diagonal parking; and vehicles reported through the resident reporting system (Seoul Smart Complaint app, Safety Report app, etc.).
