Notice of Chuseok Holiday Closures in 2022 at Garak Market and Others

<Garak Market Fruit Section Closed After Morning Auction on September 9>


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seoul Garak-dong Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market (hereinafter Garak Market) and others will be closed for the Chuseok holiday.


According to the Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Moon Young-pyo), among the fruit and vegetable categories at Garak Market, the vegetable category auction will be held until the evening of September 8 and will reopen from the evening of September 12.


The fruit category closed after the morning auction on September 9 and will resume with the dawn auction on September 13.


Among the seafood categories at Garak Market, the fresh fish and shellfish categories closed after the morning auction on September 9 and will restart from the evening auction on September 13.


The dried seafood category held auctions until the morning of September 8 and will resume from the dawn auction on September 14.


Also, at Gangseo Agricultural Products Wholesale Market (hereinafter Gangseo Market), the vegetable category auction will close after the evening auction on September 8 and will reopen from the evening auction on September 12.


The fruit category closed after the morning auction on September 9 and will proceed from the dawn auction on September 13. In the case of market wholesalers, transactions will be conducted until 6 p.m. on September 9 and will resume from 6 p.m. on September 12.


The grain wholesale market will conduct transactions until 6 p.m. on September 8 and will resume from 7 a.m. on September 13.


Kang Min-gyu, Head of Distribution Division, stated, “To ensure smooth supply of agricultural and marine products before and after the Chuseok holiday closure, we will strengthen cooperation with wholesale market corporations and intermediate wholesalers, and do our best to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and stabilize supply and demand.”
