Yoon's Press Conference Remarks Mirror Each Other
"Damage to Intra-Party Democracy" Explanation
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok appeared at the hearing for the injunction to suspend the effectiveness of the Emergency Response Committee on the 17th and stated, "I will speak about the damage to intra-party democracy." Regarding President Yoon Seok-yeol's press conference, he said, "I didn't pay attention," and did not comment further.
On the same day, Lee met with reporters at the Seoul Southern District Court and said, "I will speak to the judge about the overall procedural errors as well as the damage to intra-party democracy."
When asked what he would do if the injunction was dismissed, he replied, "I am not currently considering any preemptive decisions."
Earlier that morning, regarding President Yoon's press conference, he said, "Lately, I have been deeply concerned about intra-party democracy, so I did not properly pay attention to what President Yoon said, somewhat disrespectfully."
This appears to be in response to President Yoon's remark during today's press conference when asked about Lee, stating, "I have been focused on stabilizing people’s livelihoods and have not had the opportunity to follow other politicians' remarks."
He added, "I think there will be many opportunities to discuss political matters, so I will speak separately later."
