[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Ottogi announced on the 17th that it has launched 'Jin Ramen Fried Rice,' inspired by a recipe that gained popularity on social networking services (SNS).
The new product is an extension of Ottogi's long-standing brand Jin Ramen. It features a productization of the 'cup ramen fried rice' recipe that is popular among the younger generation.
The new product is a frozen fried rice made in a container form to enhance convenience for consumption. It can be easily prepared in 3 minutes and 30 seconds using a microwave. Unlike the traditional recipe, which involves breaking the cup ramen noodles into small pieces, soaking them in water, stir-frying with rice, green onions, eggs, and then pressing it back into the container, this product can be conveniently eaten without any additional ingredients or cooking tools.
An Ottogi representative said, "To meet consumer needs who prefer new concept products, we have implemented the popular SNS recipe 'Jin Ramen Fried Rice' as a ready meal," adding, "We plan to continuously introduce products that add fun elements to taste and visuals in line with changing consumer trends."
