Nongshim Launches 'Ramyeon Wang Kim Tongkkae' Flavored with Seaweed and Sesame Seeds

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Nongshim announced on the 17th that it will launch a new product, ‘Ramyeon Wang Kim Tongkkae,’ characterized by the clean and savory taste of gim (seaweed) and whole sesame seeds.

Ramyeon Wang Kim Tongkkae was developed by actively reflecting the opinions of consumers who want to enjoy ramyeon with a savory flavor. A Nongshim official explained, “Heavy users who frequently enjoy ramyeon first suggested a product with gim and sesame seeds, and later a survey of over 500 consumers confirmed its high preference.”

Accordingly, Nongshim introduced Ramyeon Wang Kim Tongkkae, distinguished by its rich roasted gim flakes, roasted sesame seeds, and chili oil seasoning. The broth features a refreshing taste made from various seafood such as anchovies and cod, as well as vegetables, with added spiciness from roasted red pepper powder and haneulcho chili. The noodles are non-fried dried noodles, allowing for a light enjoyment, and overall, the product is praised for its savory flavor and clean broth.

The product name ‘Ramyeon Wang Kim Tongkkae’ is derived from characterizing the key ingredients, gim and whole sesame seeds. Nongshim plans to assign a story to the characters and carry out various marketing activities using them. The concept is that the young Kim Tongkkae runs a restaurant and strives to become the Ramyeon King. Ramyeon Wang Kim Tongkkae will be officially released nationwide at large supermarkets and convenience stores on the 22nd.
