LG Electronics and KT Join Forces to Expand Service Robot Business

KT Signs Business Agreement on March 17 for New Service Robot Ventures and Next-Generation Robot Development

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] LG Electronics is expanding its domestic service robot business in collaboration with KT. By combining the robot-related technologies of both companies, LG Electronics plans to showcase a variety of its robot solutions and increase robot sales.

On the 17th, LG Electronics signed a business agreement with KT at LG Science Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, to expand the domestic service robot business. The signing ceremony was attended by Jang Ikhwan, Head of LG Electronics BS Business Division, and Song Jaeho, Head of KT AIDX Convergence Business Division, among others.

Going forward, the two companies will gradually proceed with ▲combining capabilities in robot manufacturing and service sectors to discover and expand new business opportunities ▲establishing a cooperative system for next-generation robot research and development (R&D) ▲building platforms to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic service robot industry and collaborating on government robot projects.

LG Electronics possesses technological capabilities related to robot solutions such as ▲autonomous driving ▲sensors ▲artificial intelligence (AI) ▲cameras. By integrating KT’s communication and network technologies with its own expertise in operating various robot businesses including guidance, delivery, and serving, LG Electronics plans to advance its robot solutions.
