'Preparing for Life Chapter 2' Seoul City Launches Online Self-Diagnosis Service... Measuring Interest by Field

Seoul 50 Plus Foundation Provides Diagnostic Service for Middle-Aged to Self-Assess Retirement Planning Preparation

'Preparing for Life Chapter 2' Seoul City Launches Online Self-Diagnosis Service... Measuring Interest by Field

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul 50 Plus Foundation announced on the 17th that it has prepared and will provide an online diagnostic service that allows middle-aged and older adults preparing for their second act in life to self-assess their level of readiness for retirement planning.

The online self-diagnostic service consists of 34 questions covering four key areas important for middle-aged and older adults to prepare for retirement: work, activities, relationships, and finances. Citizens who participate in the self-diagnosis can understand the degree of their interest in each area through the diagnostic results. In particular, they can also check the average scores of Seoul’s middle-aged population in each area, allowing them to understand their relative position.

The online self-diagnostic service has been available on the 50+ portal since the 17th. Based on the diagnostic results, face-to-face counseling related to areas of interest is also possible. Users can access the service by clicking the banner at the top of the main screen of the 50+ portal or by selecting the ‘Life Planning Self-Diagnosis’ menu under ‘Counseling+’ in the top menu, which will take them to the relevant page.

Lee Sung-soo, Head of Business Operations, said, “The first step in preparing for retirement is to assess your current status,” adding, “Based on a system that organically links online diagnosis to counseling, we will actively support more middle-aged and older adults in Seoul to systematically plan their later years.”
