Kim Jang-ho, mayor of Gumi, held a public report meeting on the fulfillment of campaign promises for the 8th term of the elected government.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Gumi City, Gyeongbuk Province, held the '8th Term Election Pledge Implementation Report Meeting' on the 16th at the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the Gumi City Comprehensive Business Center.
This report meeting was organized to discuss the annual implementation plans and funding securing measures for the '80 pledges across 8 major sectors and 178 detailed projects,' with attendance from department heads and project team leaders.
The city has been establishing implementation directions according to the purpose of each project through thorough reviews of pledge items by each department, seeking concrete execution plans to address anticipated issues and ensure smooth progress.
▲ Establishment of the 2nd Semiconductor Cluster ▲ Construction of a Metaverse Hub Center ▲ Restoration of the Nakdong River Ecological Axis and establishment of riverside cultural infrastructure ▲ Connection of the Geumosan Cable Car to the summit ▲ Provision of customized medical and welfare services by generation, among other key projects, are being actively supported with urgent budget allocations in the currently ongoing 2nd supplementary budget proposal.
Based on the discussions at this report meeting, Gumi City plans to further supplement the pledge implementation plan and hold a public report meeting in early October. After review by the pledge implementation evaluation committee, the 8th term election pledge projects will be finalized in November and disclosed through the city’s official website.
To enhance the execution capability of the pledge projects, the city will conduct quarterly self-assessments of progress and systematically manage the projects through evaluations by civic organizations including the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, “The pledge projects are promises to the citizens to open a new era of hope for Gumi. Please strive to establish solid plans to reduce trial and error and enhance synergy effects by strengthening interdepartmental collaboration and project linkage.”
