Staff of Jaegasarang Senior Welfare Center Care for Isolated Neighbors by Cleaning and Laundry for Elderly Living Alone
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Mi-seok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Soon-ho) announced that it selected disabled and elderly single-person households who are customized care recipients and carried out volunteer activities such as thorough cleaning and laundry.
The Gurye Home Care Love Senior Welfare Center, which operates the Gurye-gun customized elderly care project on consignment, selected four households of disabled and elderly single-person households with vulnerable environments on the 10th with the support of Gurye Methodist Church, and worked hard all day to improve the living environment of elderly single-person households by thoroughly cleaning the house, doing piled-up laundry, and removing weeds in the yard.
At the Gurye Home Care Love Senior Welfare Center, 60 life support workers provide regular home visits and phone check-in services to 860 customized elderly care recipients.
In addition, digital care equipment (IOT) has been installed in 740 elderly single-person households to operate an emergency system so that service recipients can respond quickly in case of fire or emergency situations.
Kim Soon-ho, Governor of Gurye-gun, said, “We will detect those at risk of lonely death early, provide counseling and treatment, and prevent the risk of lonely death in advance through systematic management.” He added, “We will actively watch over elderly single-person households to protect them from social isolation and ensure that no neighbors are left out.”
