Best Awarded for 'First Non-Capital Region Market Kurly Logistics Center Attraction'
Selected for 'Demolition of 10-Year-Old Troubled Vacant House' Respectively
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that it has selected seven cases of ‘Excellent Proactive Administration in the First Half of 2022,’ reflecting the results of the ‘Proactive Administration Best Practice Ranking Contest’ conducted through the Changwon City website until the 10th.
Changwon City received recommendations for proactive administration cases that contributed to resolving citizen inconveniences by responding preemptively and actively to the rapidly changing administrative environment from citizens and all departments since June. Among 20 proactive administration cases, seven excellent cases were selected through preliminary and final evaluations, and a ranking contest involving employees and citizen participation was held.
As a result, the best case for the main office’s divisions and bureaus was ▲Attracting Market Kurly’s logistics center, the first in a non-metropolitan area (Investment Attraction Team), and the best case for affiliated organizations, business offices, district offices, and eup/myeon/dong offices was ▲Demolition of a 10-year-old troublesome vacant house (Wolyeong-dong, Masanhappo-gu), respectively.
The ‘Attracting Market Kurly’s logistics center, the first in a non-metropolitan area’ case received high praise as Changwon City directly participated in negotiations with Korea Electric Power Corporation on behalf of Kurly, which had difficulties in negotiating power supply, enabling large-scale power supply through internal collaboration and external cooperation, leading to Kurly’s decision to invest in Changwon City.
The ‘Demolition of a 10-year-old troublesome vacant house’ case attracted attention by locating the heirs to obtain demolition consent for a vacant house that had been neglected for 10 years and had become a hotbed of various complaints such as illegal dumping and foul odors, and completing the demolition work by cooperating with Wolyeong-dong residents to collect the equivalent of 30 one-ton trucks of garbage.
Following excellent cases were selected as ▲Promotion of ‘Nubigo,’ a Changwon-type public-private cooperative delivery app carrying the dreams of small business owners (Economic Revitalization Division) ▲Promotion of city gas supply through fieldwork administration (Deoksan-dong, Jinhae-gu). The encouragement awards went to ▲Creation of Jinhae Haengam city bus public garage (New Transportation Promotion Team) ▲Operation to capture a herd of cattle that had been roaming for 10 years (Livestock Division, Agricultural Technology Center) ▲Establishment of Changwon Special City’s first village management office (Hyeon-dong, Masanhappo-gu).
Changwon City plans to award the selected excellent cases after review by the personnel committee and provide personnel incentives.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon City, said, “To actively respond to the rapidly changing administrative environment, we will break away from conventions and carry out creative and proactive administration to create changes that the demand-side, the citizens of Changwon, can clearly feel.”
