Operate travel packages requiring at least one night stay in Gokseong with domestic travel agencies
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-seon] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate ‘How about Gokseong when you travel,’ an incentive program for travel agencies running Gokseong experience travel products.
Eligibility for the contest application requires domestic travel agencies registered under Article 4 of the Tourism Promotion Act, operating travel products that include at least one overnight stay in Gokseong.
Selected travel agencies can receive support for 50% of the experience product cost and part of the vehicle rental fee.
The application period is from August 16 to August 26, and the application form can be downloaded from the Gokseong-gun website’s Notices/Announcements board or the official Gokseong-gun blog.
The final selection results will be announced on August 31.
The incentive support period will last until December 20, and if multiple agencies apply, payments will be made in order of application within the budget limits.
Gokseong-gun has previously provided incentives to travel agencies that attracted group tourists.
For domestic day courses, 5,000 KRW per person was paid; for 1-night 2-day courses, 12,000 KRW per person; for foreign tourists, 8,000 KRW per person for day courses and 15,000 KRW for 1-night 2-day courses.
This year, to both attract tourists and encourage the private sector to operate specialized Gokseong travel products, the incentive system was changed to a contest format.
The support amount was also significantly increased up to a maximum of 1.8 million KRW based on 30 people.
A county official said, “Besides this contest, our county will also cooperate with travel agencies to discover travel products that tourists can find appealing.”
