Jogyuil Jinju Mayor Plays a Key Role as Ambassador for Namgang Yudeung Festival Promotion! Mayor Jo Gyu-il visits Tongyeong Ogwangdae performance hall to engage in festival and cultural arts exchange activities.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, invited Mayor Cho Gyu-il, tourism ambassador Hamo, and festival officials to the '61st Tongyeong Hansan Battle Festival' held from the 6th to the 14th, where they lit wishes and participated in the bubble cosplay street parade, actively engaging in festival and cultural arts exchange activities.

This participation in the Hansan Battle Festival follows the festival and cultural arts exchange agreement among the three major battle sites of the Imjin War (Jinju, Goyang, Tongyeong) made in February.

In June, they participated in the Goyang Haengju Cultural Festival, performed Jinju Geommu, took part as a presenter in the Imjin War history forum, and operated a Jinju City promotional booth.

On the 14th, Mayor Cho visited the Tongyeong Ogwangdae performance hall and delivered congratulatory remarks with Tongyeong Mayor Cheon Young-gi and Goyang city officials, reflecting on the significance of mutual festival exchanges among the three major battle sites of the Imjin War.

In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Cho said, “I look forward to meeting again at the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival, which will beautifully decorate the Namgang River on an autumn night in October,” fulfilling his role as a promotional ambassador for Jinju, a premium city that people want to visit, stay in, and live in.

Meanwhile, the city plans to invite cultural and arts groups from Goyang and Tongyeong during the 22-day Namgang Yudeung Festival held from October 10 to 31 to showcase performances, and will sign a business agreement for mutual festival and cultural arts exchange among the three major battle cities of the Imjin War to promote regional cultural arts development and strengthen festival competitiveness.
