Damyang-gun Recruiting 'Rural Youth Entrepreneurs' to Play a Central Role in Local Agricultural Development

Cultivating Income-Generating Rural Youth Entrepreneurs Through Customized Agricultural Startup Support

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that it is recruiting candidates for the 2023 Rural Youth Entrepreneur Training Project, which will play a central role in the development of local agriculture through creative ideas.

The county is recruiting applicants for the Rural Youth Entrepreneur Training Project at the Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services until the 6th of next month, and has posted notices on the websites of Damyang-gun and the County Agricultural Technology Center to attract applicants.

This project aims to cultivate rural youth entrepreneurs who generate high income through agricultural startups by selecting 20 business entities.

Applications are accepted and recommended by the County Agricultural Technology Center, and eligibility requires young farmers aged 18 to under 39 within the province, with more than two years of full-time farming experience as of the announcement date.

Those who have registered businesses in fields other than agriculture and operate such businesses are not eligible to apply.

This project is for the year 2023, providing support of around 20 million KRW per business entity (100% funded by provincial government), and candidates will be selected through a first document screening, a second presentation screening, and a separate evaluation in November this year.

The project funding supports costs necessary for new startups in the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural products; business expansion from primary agricultural production to processing and distribution (including sales); and the introduction of new ideas for the development of existing agricultural production, processing, and distribution businesses.
