Thorough Safety Management Urged in Preparation for the Southward Movement of the Stagnation Front
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam, conducted an emergency on-site inspection on the 16th by visiting construction sites vulnerable to heavy rain in preparation for the southward movement of the stationary front.
This on-site inspection focused on large-scale construction sites promoted by Geochang-gun, such as the Susungdae Trail Connection Project (suspension bridge) and the Geochang Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project, to check safety management status and emergency response plans.
Mayor Gu said, “Although the central region has been experiencing continuous heavy rain, our county has not seen heavy rain due to heatwaves, so there may be negligence in coping with highly variable weather conditions. Therefore, please do your best in safety management to prevent any damage in preparation for the southward movement of the stationary front.”
Meanwhile, Geochang-gun has been making every effort to minimize damage by intensively inspecting five areas at risk of human casualties, 146 disaster-vulnerable facilities, 128 facilities related to the Special Act on Safety and Maintenance of Facilities, and construction sites, including an on-site inspection by Mayor Gu on the 1st, in preparation for natural disasters during the summer season.
