[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Convenience store Seven Eleven is filling the Lotte World Tower Plaza with Pok?mon in collaboration with Pok?mon Korea.

On the 16th, Seven Eleven announced that it will create a "Smiling Pok?mon" play zone themed around the globally popular brand Pok?mon at the Lotte World Tower Plaza, covering an area of 2,215㎡ (approximately 670 pyeong) until the 12th of next month. The Smiling Pok?mon play zone will feature a 15-meter-tall giant Pikachu art balloon that will capture the attention of visitors to the Lotte World Tower and Seokchon Lake area.

Seven Eleven stated, "We planned this Smiling Pok?mon play zone so that people, who have been struggling due to COVID-19, can have enjoyable and happy experiences. During the summer vacation season and the early Chuseok holiday, families, friends, and couples can take commemorative photos together and enjoy a vacation in the city at the Lotte World Tower Plaza."

The Smiling Pok?mon play zone includes about 30 Pok?mon sculptures. Visitors can find photo zones decorated with popular Pok?mon such as Eevee, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur, including the 15-meter Pikachu art balloon. Exhibits include the "Cabin Store," which recreates Seven Eleven stores in a cute cabin shape, the "Pikachu Gift Box Photo Zone," the "Artificial Flower Photo Zone" featuring Pikachu made from 711 yellow roses, and the "Picnic Tent" engraved with Pok?mon faces.

The Seven Eleven Smiling Pok?mon play zone operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and offers a spectacular night view with lighting on the giant Pok?mon art balloon after sunset.

Seven Eleven also operates a Pok?mon pop-up store within the Smiling Pok?mon play zone. At the pop-up store, customers can purchase various Pok?mon goods such as Pikachu omelet rice in a Pikachu face-shaped container, Pok?mon spaghetti, Pok?mon keyrings, and face figures.

Various events commemorating the creation of the Smiling Pok?mon play zone will also be held. For 20 days until the 4th of next month, 711 Pok?mon breads will be sold daily on a first-come, first-served basis to visitors of the Smiling Pok?mon play zone (up to 3 per person). Customers who purchase over 30,000 KRW worth of Pok?mon goods at the pop-up store will receive a Pok?mon reusable bag, limited to 3,000 people. Until the 25th, the first 100 people who upload SNS certification photos of their visit to the play zone daily will receive a Pikachu helium balloon. Additionally, 100,000 Smiling Pok?mon hand fans will be distributed free of charge at the play zone and nearby Jamsil stores.
