[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] It was recently revealed that a thief broke into the mansion of American pop star Mariah Carey (53).

On the 14th (local time), U.S. entertainment media Page Six reported, "While Carey was living luxuriously in mansions in Capri, Italy, and the Hamptons last July, her Atlanta home was burglarized."

Earlier, Carey purchased a mansion in Atlanta worth $5.65 million (approximately 7.395 billion KRW) in November last year. The mansion features 9 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a swimming pool, and tennis courts.

The police stated, "We confirmed signs of a break-in by the thief," and added, "We are investigating with all possibilities open."

However, they did not disclose specific details such as what items were stolen. Carey's side also has not released any statements.

This is not the first time Carey's mansion has been burglarized. In 2017, her Los Angeles home was broken into, and items worth $50,000 (approximately 65 million KRW) were stolen.

Carey is a global star known for hit songs such as "Hero" and "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
