According to local governments including Seoul City on this day, from 12 AM to 9 PM nationwide in 17 cities and provinces, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was counted at 81,663. This is 21,873 more than the previous day (59,790).

Compared to a week ago on the 8th (143,168), it decreased by 61,505. Typically, on Mondays, the number of diagnostic tests that decreased over the weekend tends to accumulate, causing the mid-day tally of new confirmed cases to increase. However, due to the holiday (Gwangbokjeol) on this day, the number of new confirmed cases decreased compared to the previous week despite being Monday.

The number of new confirmed cases over the week starting from the 9th was 149,866 → 151,748 → 137,204 → 128,714 → 124,592 → 119,603 → 62,078. The average daily number of confirmed cases reached 124,829.

As of 9 PM on this day, the number of new confirmed cases was 38,210 (46.8%) in the metropolitan area and 43,453 (53.2%) in non-metropolitan areas.
