[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Nayeon] An incident occurred on a flight to Jeju where a male passenger verbally abused the parents because their child was crying.

According to an SBS report on the 15th, the incident took place on the previous day aboard a flight departing from Gimpo to Jeju.

A man identified as Mr. A, who boarded the flight departing from Gimpo Airport to Jeju around 4 p.m., shouted at the child's parents, saying, "Do adults have to suffer because of this?" when the child started crying on board.

Mr. A suddenly raised his voice, saying, "Why are you causing trouble, you XX? Who told you to have a kid?" Then he confronted the child's parents, demanding, "Apologize," and added, "It's terrible to curse at your child, but is it okay that I am the one suffering? Do adults have to suffer?"

Flight attendants approached and tried to calm him down, saying, "Please calm down and take your seat," but he ignored them.

He resisted the flight attendants' attempts to stop him, lowered his mask, and caused a disturbance, shouting, "So should I die here then?"

Netizens commented, "It can be unpleasant, but is it really necessary to go that far?", "He can't even tolerate that much and ends up causing more trouble himself, truly immature," and "Why don't people realize they grew up thanks to the consideration of those around them when they were young?"

Some expressed opinions such as, "A crying child on a plane is a nuisance," and "If the parents apologize, I can tolerate it, but if they don't care, it makes me angry."

Others stated, "Considering the level of disturbance, the airline's safety response was insufficient. Such behavior on a plane is dangerous," and "In-flight disturbances should be punished as serious crimes like in the U.S."
