[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dongmyung University recently appointed CEO Noh Jae-ho of HMT and CEO Kim Dong-soo of Micheon Environment as industry-academia cooperation advisory committee members for education innovation based on industry demand.
The advisory committee term is two years, during which they will work on ▲ nurturing talent through industry-academia cooperation in education and research for the newly established Department of Marine Mobility in 2023 ▲ developing specialized curricula ▲ industry-linked education ▲ strengthening employment competitiveness.
CEO Noh Jae-ho stated, “It is important to cultivate personnel who can respond to future technologies based on the 4th Industrial Revolution and digital technology, and it is necessary to develop curricula that align with technological changes such as electric propulsion, in addition to traditional shipbuilding engineering fields like structure and fluid.”
He also emphasized, “Public awareness of eco-friendly technologies to save the ocean is increasing, making the training of specialized personnel in this area essential.”
President Jeon Ho-hwan said, “We will establish a virtuous cycle structure that leads the industry through joint research to solve technical difficulties of local small and medium enterprises as well as talent development through mutual cooperation.”
