Coway's Air Clean Antibacterial Filter Selected as an 'Excellent Product for Chemical Substance Reduction'

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Coway's Air Clean antibacterial filter for air purifiers has been recognized for product safety and selected as an 'Excellent Product for Chemical Substance Reduction 2022,' organized by the Ministry of Environment and civic groups.

According to Coway on the 13th, following the selection of one type of air purifier filter in the first-ever Excellent Product for Chemical Substance Reduction last year, this time three types, including the Air Clean antibacterial filter, were recognized as excellent products for chemical substance reduction.

The 'Excellent Product for Chemical Substance Reduction' is selected through a rigorous review process targeting products that disclose all ingredients and pass raw material safety evaluations, with the aim of strengthening the safety of household chemical products. This program is jointly organized by the Ministry of Environment and the Green Consumer Network National Council, a civic organization.

The products selected this time as excellent products for chemical substance reduction are three types, including the 'Air Clean antibacterial filter' installed in Coway Noble air purifiers. Coway was recognized for contributing to the reduction of harmful substances by replacing them with less hazardous materials to protect consumers, leading to the selection as an excellent product for chemical substance reduction. Coway's air purifier filters are the only ones recognized as such.

The Coway Air Clean antibacterial filter features a patented 4D three-dimensional filter structure that removes 99.999% of ultrafine dust particles as small as 0.01μm and includes a function to inhibit the growth of bacteria and mold within the filter.

Meanwhile, Coway signed a voluntary agreement on household chemical product safety management with the Ministry of Environment in 2019 and has been actively contributing to consumer protection and strengthening safety management of household chemical products. Under this voluntary agreement, Coway submits all ingredients contained in five types of air purifier filters to the government and discloses the information through the Household Environment Safety Information System, Choroknuri.
