According to the business community on the 13th, a total of 16.3 billion KRW has been donated by 13 groups including Samsung and Hyundai Motor Company as of this day.


Samsung donated 3 billion KRW to support the recovery of areas affected by the heavy rain in the central regions such as Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon. In addition to the donation, Samsung plans to provide 5,000 emergency relief kits containing bottled water, blankets, spare clothes, and towels to residents in the affected areas, and will also conduct free inspection services for water-damaged electronic products on-site.


SK Group decided to donate 2 billion KRW to the National Disaster Relief Association. Hyundai Motor Group donated 2 billion KRW and formed an emergency support team of employees to provide basic necessities such as bottled water and ramen to the affected areas. They will also deploy four mobile laundry relief vehicles and one disinfection relief vehicle to aid in early recovery efforts.


LG Group donated 2 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea. LG Electronics established a service base in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, where the flood damage was severe, and dispatched service engineers to provide free repair services for water-damaged home appliances. At the temporary shelter in Guryong Village, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, they supported 10 air purifiers and 10 Aero Towers each.

Lotte Group, Hanwha Group, and GS Group each donated 1 billion KRW to support flood damage recovery and aid for disaster victims. In addition to the donation, Lotte plans to provide mobile shower rooms and restrooms and deploy laundry relief vehicles at recovery sites. Hanwha Life Insurance and Hanwha General Insurance will waive insurance premium payments and loan principal and interest repayments for six months for customers affected by the heavy rain. GS Retail has delivered emergency relief supplies consisting of lunch boxes, bananas, and bottled water through the Korean Red Cross.


POSCO Group donated 2 billion KRW to the National Disaster Relief Association, while Hyundai Heavy Industries Group and Doosan Group each contributed 500 million KRW. Hyundai Heavy Industries Group also plans to provide about 200 emergency relief kits containing daily necessities.


Shinsegae Group and CJ Group each donated 500 million KRW, and LS Group donated 300 million KRW. Shinsegae Group and CJ Group also delivered 1,000 and 3,600 relief items such as snacks respectively for disaster victims. LS Mtron, which operates in the tractor business, plans to assess tractor damage caused by the heavy rain and provide free mobile repair services.
