The quantity is about 450,000 sets, a 20% increase compared to last year's Chuseok.
Shinsegae expects the ‘Homechu’ trend, where families spend time together at home during this Chuseok, to continue, and thus will increase the introduction of unique fruit sets that allow customers to enjoy famous restaurants and various fruits.
Last Chuseok, unique fruit gift sets accounted for 30% of the total, but this Chuseok, Shinsegae will expand this to 50%. Representative products include the Alchan Melon Mixed Set (75,000 KRW to 85,000 KRW), Yeonggwang Mango Mixed Set (190,000 KRW to 210,000 KRW), and Shine Muscat Apple and Pear Set (105,000 KRW to 125,000 KRW).
Gift sets collaborated with famous domestic restaurants such as Motungiwoo, Utender, and R Meat will also be introduced with double the quantity this year. Especially from this Chuseok, Shinsegae will introduce steak sets for the first time in collaboration with the world-renowned culinary education institution ‘Le Cordon Bleu’. Representative products include the Le Cordon Bleu Home Party Set (360,000 KRW) and the Le Cordon Bleu Steak Set (600,000 KRW).
Eco-friendly gift sets will also be expanded. For this Chuseok, Shinsegae is introducing fruit trays and dividers made of paper for the first time. To establish an eco-friendly consumption culture, eco-friendly fruit trays and dividers that can be separated and recycled will be applied to apple and pear gift sets starting this Chuseok, with plans for further expansion.
The proportion of eco-friendly packaging will also be increased. The eco-friendly boxes introduced for fruit gift sets will be expanded from the existing 50% to 80%. Previously, since last Chuseok, Shinsegae has produced paper boxes using uncoated recycled paper printed with soy ink to minimize environmental impact, offering eco-friendly fruit gift sets.
Eco-friendly cooling bags for livestock and seafood gift sets will also be expanded. Made from R-PET fabric recycled from waste PET bottles, as well as recycled clothing and paperboard, these bags also have excellent cooling effects.
Until Chuseok day, more than 4,200 gift sets can be found through SSG.com. In fresh foods, in addition to premium Hanwoo beef gift sets of grade 1++ or higher, products from regional premium Hanwoo brands such as ‘Green Hanwoo’ from Jeollanam-do and ‘Palgong Cham Hanwoo’ from Daegu will be offered with more than double the quantity.
Besides Hanwoo, trendy brand gift sets such as ‘Fermentation: Gotgan’ Organic Set (120,000 KRW), Bulrodong Gas Station’s Sesame Oil Value Set (112,500 KRW), and O’sulloc SSG Tumbler Set (33,500 KRW) will also be introduced.
Special benefits have also been prepared for customers purchasing gift sets through SSG.com. Until the 21st of this month, SSG Money rewards of up to 1 million KRW will be given based on purchase amount.
