[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating, which had been declining, has slightly rebounded after two months. Attention is focused on whether the downward trend has stopped and the bottom has been confirmed.

According to a regular public opinion poll released on the 12th by Gallup (a telephone interviewer survey conducted from the 9th to the 11th targeting 1,000 people nationwide aged 18 and over), 25% of respondents said President Yoon is performing his duties well, while 66% said he is performing poorly. Compared to last week's survey, the positive opinion increased by 1 percentage point, while the negative opinion remained the same.

President Yoon's approval rating peaked at 53% in the second week of June and then showed a downward trend, hitting a low of 24% last week. Gallup evaluated, "As with last week, most respondent characteristics show more opinions that he is 'performing poorly,' but the two-month-long decline in the president's positive job performance rating and the rise in negative ratings have temporarily stopped."

The change in opinion among conservatives, who had joined the downward trend, reversed the recent decline. In last week's survey, the conservative group trailed the moderate and progressive groups, with 44% saying he was doing well and 48% saying he was doing poorly. However, in this survey, 48% said he was doing well, surpassing the 45% who said he was doing poorly. Nevertheless, except for those aged 70 and over, negative evaluations were still higher than positive evaluations in all age groups and regions, including Daegu and Gyeongbuk (TK).
