[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] On the 12th, Zi&Food announced that Oven-cooked franchise Goobne, operated by the company, has officially entered the North American market by opening its first store at the Hannam Chain Del Amo location in LA, USA.
Goobne's first US store is located in the food court of the large Korean market 'Hannam Chain Del Amo,' which opened in June in the Torrance area of Los Angeles, USA. The store has a total of 56 seats.
At this location, signature menu items include 'Goobne Galbi Cheonwang,' which recreates the flavor of galbi in chicken, 'Goobne Fruity Soy Garlic,' made with soy sauce and garlic with added fruit, and 'Goobne Gochu Basasak,' chicken coated with ground Cheongyang chili peppers, allowing locals to enjoy K-food oven-roasted chicken.
Since opening its first store in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong in November 2014, Goobne has accelerated its overseas expansion by consecutively opening new stores in Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and China since November last year. Currently, it operates a total of 41 stores across 10 countries overseas, aiming to operate 100 overseas stores by next year.
Jung Taeyong, CEO of Zi&Food, said, “Beyond the Asian market, this first entry into the US market is significant for our growth as a global dining company,” adding, “Starting with Goobne’s first US store, we plan to open a second store within this year and gradually expand the business to 100 stores within five years.”
