[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced on the 12th that it conducted an educational donation activity aimed at children in the Daegu area, providing them with career exploration experiences through a one-day cabin crew experience and fostering awareness of aviation safety.
On the previous day, T'way Air invited children from social welfare facilities in the Daegu area to the T'way Air Training Center located at Gimpo Airport, where they conducted a program allowing the children to directly experience the safety and service aspects of airline cabin crew, which are usually difficult to encounter.
During the program, an instructor crew member responsible for training actual cabin crew began with an introduction to airline duties and the company tailored to the children's level. They then conducted education on in-flight service and safety at various facilities within the training center.
For in-flight service, the children practiced beverage service and experienced in-flight safety briefings in the mock-up room, which is an aircraft model training room. Regarding in-flight safety, they directly experienced overall emergency response methods such as emergency exits, door slide operation, fire extinguishing practice, slide evacuation, and boarding a lifeboat after wearing a life jacket, thereby enhancing their awareness of aviation safety.
This social contribution activity is a follow-up to the business agreement signed in April last year between T'way Air and DGB Financial Group to promote mutual cooperation. It was carried out in collaboration with the Daegu Metropolitan City Social Welfare Council. Additionally, in June last year, T'way Air participated in the ‘Dream Tree Education Project Group’ operated by the DGB Financial Group Social Contribution Foundation, delivering career lectures by active cabin crew members to youth in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.
Furthermore, T'way Air has been engaged in various sharing activities in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, including talent-sharing events by cabin crew visiting senior welfare centers, supporting the creation of playground spaces in elementary schools through school play environment improvement projects, and providing educational expenses, cultural events, and family travel support for foster families.
A T'way Air official stated, “We hope this experience helps children to have bigger dreams and hopes and to gain a broader perspective. We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities utilizing T'way Air’s resources to practice ESG management.”
