DB HiTek Q2 Operating Profit 213.2 Billion KRW... "Record High for 6 Consecutive Quarters"

Q2 Sales Up 59% YoY, Operating Profit Up 162%

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Ye-ju] DB HiTek announced on the 12th that it recorded sales of 435.7 billion KRW and operating profit of 213.2 billion KRW in the second quarter of this year, achieving a record high for six consecutive quarters. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 59% and operating profit by 162%, with an operating profit margin of 49%.

A DB HiTek official explained, "Despite external adversities such as supply chain instability and inflation, demand from foundry customers for power semiconductors based on differentiated technology continued to increase," adding, "The exchange rate also had a positive effect."

DB HiTek plans to continue focusing on developing next-generation power semiconductors suitable for new high-growth application areas such as electric vehicles, while also concentrating on securing new growth engines such as 5th generation mobile communication (5G) wireless communication chips (RF chips) and specialized sensors to sustain growth.

Meanwhile, the brand (design) business division, which specializes in display semiconductors, contributed to improved performance by accounting for 22% of total sales and 16% of operating profit amid the recent slowdown in demand for liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
