SK C&C Distributes Carbon Neutral Education Program to Middle and High School Students in Seongnam City

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] SK Inc. C&C will provide carbon neutrality specialized education and practice programs for middle and high school students in Seongnam City.

On the 12th, SK Inc. C&C announced that it held a joint declaration ceremony for the carbon neutrality practice project to respond to the climate crisis in Seongnam City, titled ‘Better Life in the Era of Climate Crisis 2022! Active Seongnam,’ at the Seongnam Senior Industry Innovation Center located in Bundang, Seongnam City.

SK Inc. C&C will collaborate with the Seongnam Volunteer Center to distribute carbon neutrality education and practice programs for middle and high school students.

They will provide self-developed teaching materials tailored to students’ level, titled ‘Stories of Environment and Carbon Neutrality,’ as lecture materials and support the training of specialized instructors for carbon neutrality education.

Additionally, to encourage students to voluntarily engage in carbon neutrality activities, SK Inc. C&C will support the carbon neutrality practice app ‘Haenggarae,’ developed by SK Inc. C&C.

Students participating in the carbon neutrality education program can download the Haenggarae app specific to their school and collect carbon neutrality points by activities such as using mugs and tumblers, not leaving leftovers in the student cafeteria, and turning off unused classroom electricity.

Ahn Seok-ho, Head of the Happiness Promotion Center at SK Inc. C&C, said, “In addition to Seongnam City, we are conducting carbon neutrality education for middle and high school students in cooperation with various institutions and companies in Seoul and Gangwon Province,” adding, “We will continue to support so that our future generations can grow into healthy members of civil society through the participation and cooperation of diverse stakeholders.”
