Seoul Police Deploy Forces to Flood-Affected Areas... "Plan for Maximum Support in Damage Recovery"

[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Jo] The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 12th that it has deployed police forces to areas affected by recent heavy rains to support flood recovery efforts.

The police are deploying 10 companies of the police riot squad, totaling over 650 personnel, to the Dongjak-gu and Gwanak-gu districts of Seoul, where flood damage was concentrated. They will assist on-site by organizing household items in flooded homes and removing oil residues, branches, and soil around rivers.

The police's public recovery activities on this day will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m. Going forward, police forces will continue to support flood recovery sites considering public safety conditions. A police official stated, "We will focus our capabilities on flood recovery support to ensure citizens' safety and a swift return to daily life."
