The governor of Ulleung County in South Korea is conducting a brain training and health exercise healing program for female residents.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kyungho Ahn] Ulleung County, Gyeongbuk, conducted a brain training health exercise healing program for about 40 rural women in the Ulleung area from the 9th to the 11th.
This program, held at the Agricultural Workers' Hall auditorium, is conducted annually by Ulleung County to revitalize rural society and strengthen the capabilities of rural women.
The training topics were ‘Laughter Health Exercise Meridian Gymnastics’ and ‘Golden Health Exercise Line Dance.’ After completing the training, participants can also take a practical exam to obtain the ‘Silver Brain Training Instructor’ certification.
Holders of the Silver Brain Training Instructor certification plan to visit senior centers and nursing homes in connection with dementia relief centers to lead cognitive games and dementia prevention exercises, taking the lead in creating a healthy rural environment.
Lee Sookhee, President of the Ulleung County Life Improvement Association, said, “In this era of longevity, I will visit places where the elderly gather, such as village senior centers, to donate my talents.”
Nam Hankwon, Ulleung County Governor, said, “I hope rural women will establish themselves as female leaders by receiving various education and take the lead in the development of the local community.”
