Chungkang College of Cultural Industries Signs MOU with KT for Metaverse Content Development Collaboration

- Discovering Metaverse-Based Game Content and Collaborating on AI Technologies such as Digital Humans
- Cooperation to Foster Talent for the Metaverse Content Industry through Game Project Courses

Chungkang College of Cultural Industries (President Hwang Bong-seong, hereinafter Chungkang College) announced on the 11th that it signed a memorandum of understanding for metaverse content development cooperation with KT Corporation (CEO Koo Hyun-mo, hereinafter KT) on the 9th.

Chungkang College and KT will develop game content for KT's metaverse platform, Genieverse, collaborate on AI technologies such as discovering new metaverse-based game content and digital humans, and cooperate to nurture talent for the metaverse content industry by utilizing Chungkang College's game project courses.

The two parties plan to activate the ecosystem environment of Genieverse through various metaverse game contents developed by Chungkang College students.

Since 2021, Chungkang College has been selected by the Ministry of Education as a "Specialized Leading College in New Industry Fields (Augmented and Virtual Reality sector)" and is actively introducing related curricula to foster metaverse content creators, the core of the next-generation content industry based on AR and VR.

Yeom Dong-hyun, Dean of the Game Content School at Chungkang College, said, "I hope that the game content developed by Chungkang College students demonstrating creativity in the metaverse environment can be utilized in KT's metaverse business," and added, "We will actively support to create a synergistic effect in industry-academia cooperation regarding KT's ongoing metaverse initiatives."

Bae Soon-min, Director of the AI2XL Research Institute at KT Convergence Technology Institute, stated, "Through this agreement, by establishing a metaverse cooperation network, we expect to create a metaverse ecosystem through KT's technological capabilities and Chungkang College's creativity," and added, "We will actively collaborate with Chungkang College to discover excellent metaverse content."
