Hyundai Motor Launches '2023 Staria' Equipped with New 'Crosswind Stability Control' Technology


[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 11th that it has launched the ‘2023 Staria,’ a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) with enhanced product competitiveness, and has begun full-scale sales. The 2023 Staria is a model with a year change, featuring newly applied technology to improve driving stability and enhanced specifications by trim to improve product quality.


Hyundai Motor is the first in the group to apply the new ‘Crosswind Stabilization Control’ technology as standard on all Staria models. The crosswind stabilization control technology automatically controls the front and rear wheels on the side where strong crosswinds hit the vehicle body, suppressing lateral movement of the vehicle and improving turning performance and grip, enabling stable driving.


Additionally, the Staria Cargo (3/5-seater) and Tourer (9/11-seater) Modern trims come standard with UV-blocking glass, and all trims of the Lounge model come standard with a shark fin antenna. Along with this, the Tourer and Lounge models have improved luggage nets and hooks to allow passengers to store items more conveniently, and the Lounge 7-seater model has enhanced seating comfort in the second row.

Hyundai Motor added a new 7-seater trim ‘Mobility7’ following the mobility operator-exclusive ‘Mobility9.’ The ‘Mobility7’ is a model that considers the convenience of second-row passengers more than the 9-seater, with a premium second-row relaxation seat as standard and an option for a dual wide sunroof, actively reflecting the needs of mobility transport operators who require differentiated experiences.


In addition, the ‘Mobility7’ comes standard with ▲natural leather seats ▲second-row heated and ventilated seats ▲4-way power passenger seat ▲passenger seat walk-in device.


The 2023 Staria also offers convenience and leisure-oriented personalized items such as ▲multi-hanger ▲trailer package and ▲children’s headrest and luggage partition table (scheduled for release in Q4), selected through a customization idea contest, to meet the diverse lifestyle needs of consumers.

The sales prices for the Cargo 2.2 Diesel are ▲3-seater Smart 28.06 million KRW ▲3-seater Modern 29.57 million KRW ▲5-seater Smart 28.75 million KRW ▲5-seater Modern 30.37 million KRW, and for the 3.5 LPI are ▲3-seater Modern 29.27 million KRW ▲5-seater Modern 30.07 million KRW. The Tourer 2.2 Diesel is priced at ▲9-seater Modern 31.69 million KRW ▲11-seater Smart 30.12 million KRW, and 11-seater Modern 31.69 million KRW. The 3.5 LPI is ▲9-seater Modern 31.39 million KRW ▲11-seater Modern 31.39 million KRW.


The Lounge 2.2 Diesel is priced at ▲9-seater Prestige 37.36 million KRW ▲9-seater Inspiration 41.23 million KRW ▲7-seater Inspiration 42.09 million KRW, and the 3.5 LPI is ▲9-seater Prestige 37.06 million KRW ▲9-seater Inspiration 40.93 million KRW ▲9-seater Mobility 40.58 million KRW ▲7-seater Inspiration 41.79 million KRW ▲7-seater Mobility 39.45 million KRW. (The 7-seater models are based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax rate, but the Mobility7 is exempt from individual consumption tax.)


A Hyundai Motor official said, “The Staria, which has been loved by customers for its spacious interior and futuristic design, has returned as the 2023 Staria with enhanced product quality,” adding, “We expect it to satisfy the diverse needs of customers as an MPV.”
