Directive to Actively Promote Gurye through Expo at Department Head Policy Discussion Meeting

Active Promotion to Encourage Urban Residents Wanting to Return to Farming and Rural Areas to Participate in Consultations

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun is participating in the Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Expo to actively promote Gurye.

County Governor Kim Soon-ho held a policy discussion meeting with department heads on the 8th and emphasized meticulous handling of current issues, including actively attracting urban residents through participation in the expo.

At the discussion, Governor Kim instructed active promotion to raise awareness of Gurye-gun by participating in the expo. He also ordered proactive county administration efforts such as promoting the 2022 Rock Festival, preparing for the Sansa EDM Festival, supporting the discovery of welfare blind spots, promoting increased use of the Gurye Love Gift Certificate, implementing safety measures to prevent water-related accidents during the vacation season, and thoroughly publicizing major changes following amendments to the Farmland Act.

Gurye-gun plans to dispatch staff to the integrated booth at the Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Expo held in August to provide information related to returning to farming and rural migration to urban residents interested in these topics and to actively attract them through promotional activities.

First, from August 11 to 14, for four days, they will participate in the Happiness Expo held at KINTEX in Ilsan, providing comprehensive information on returning to farming and rural migration, consultation services, and education and policy counseling.

In particular, Gurye-gun will directly dispatch staff to conduct consultations for attracting urban residents interested in returning to farming and rural migration, promote support policies for returning to farming and rural migration, and promote the Stay-type Agricultural Startup Support Center to actively attract urban residents.

Additionally, from August 24 to 26, for three days, at the Hometown Love Expo held at the aT Center in Seoul, staff will also be dispatched to conduct face-to-face consultations with urban residents wishing to return to farming and rural migration, actively promoting Gurye’s unique advantages to encourage many urban residents to come to Gurye.

Governor Kim Soon-ho said, “Prepare thoroughly for consultations so that urban residents wishing to return to farming and rural migration can easily adapt to Gurye,” and added, “We will actively promote so that many urban residents can participate in the consultations.”
