Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Forms 'Budget Planning TF' for Major Transformation in Jeonnam Education

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 10th that it will operate a ‘Budget Planning TF’ to promote the 4th term resident-elected Jeonnam Education Great Transformation.

The ‘Budget Planning TF’ held its first meeting on the same day and appointed the Policy Director, Education Director, and Administration Director as joint general operating committee members, and formed 26 responsible committee members including heads and team leaders of each department at the headquarters, along with 15 review committee members.

The Budget Planning TF is divided into three teams and will operate until the 26th.

The TF’s basic direction for the ‘2023 Jeonnam Provincial Education Special Account Budget Planning,’ which will be the first budget after the launch of the 4th term resident-elected Jeonnam Education, is expected to support the stable promotion of the Jeonnam Education Great Transformation.

Plans to establish the core tasks of the 4th term, such as building a future education foundation and realizing Jeonnam-type educational autonomy, will also be prepared in connection with next year’s main budget.

Jeonnam-type educational autonomy aims to build an educational ecosystem where children in Jeonnam can learn and work within Jeonnam, which is one of Superintendent Kim Dae-jung’s key campaign promises.

Superintendent Kim Dae-jung said, “All policies are difficult to implement without budget support,” and added, “I hope the TF will set a good direction for next year’s main budget by boldly streamlining conventional events in the existing budget and strengthening school support through selection and concentration so that school work can be minimized.”
