[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold the '2022 Youth Marine and Ecological Career Experience Camp' for 40 high school students in the district on the 11th and 12th at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology and other locations.
The camp aims to increase students' interest in marine careers and ecological environments and to develop youths' capabilities regarding the ocean and ecological environment through field-centered experiential marine programs.
Participating students will start with beachcombing at Jungni Beach in Yeongdo, then attend marine career-related lectures and experiential activities at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology and the Korea Maritime and Fisheries Training Institute.
Students will also engage in activities such as experiencing the Ulsan Whale Ecology Exploration Ship and exploring the Sejatrasup Forest at the UN Sustainable Development Education Tongyeong Center (Tongyeong RCE).
Lee Jae-han, Director of Future Talent Education at the City Office of Education, said, "The camp will be very helpful for youths in exploring marine careers and nurturing marine talents."
On the morning of the 30th, the Busan Office of Education conducted pre-education for participating students, including a special lecture by a marine ecology expert and safety education, under the theme 'Whales of Our Sea' in the medium conference room on the 3rd floor of the annex building of the City Office of Education.
