Yeosu-si to Host 'Romantic Nangdo Festival' for Two Days Starting the 13th

[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] On the 13th and 14th, the "Romantic Nangdo Festival" will be held on Nangdo Island, a must-visit island.

This event, jointly hosted by Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) and the Yeosu City Tourism Association (President Lee Soon-mi), will be held as a resident-participation festival under the theme of "Ecological Green Tourism."

On the first day, the 13th, various experiential events will take place, starting with an expert forum at 3 PM, followed by seafood auction experience, ecological exploration team, and "Find Nangdo Jeotsaem Makgeolli."

Then, at 7:30 PM, the opening ceremony will be held along with street performances, fusion percussion, classical and popera performances, and the Bibigaksi mask party, creating a lively atmosphere. Specialty products and souvenirs will be sold, and a food market will be open, delighting tourists' eyes and taste buds.

On the second day, the 14th, experiential programs such as coastal wellness meditation to fully enjoy the romance of Nangdo, treasure hunt, and ecological exploration team will be conducted.

In particular, the city plans to unify the entrance flow and conduct fever checks using thermal cameras to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Also, since the event is held along the coast, barrier posts will be installed within 20 meters near the venue for participant safety, and about 10 safety personnel will be deployed.

A city official said, "We believe this festival will be an opportunity to share the achievements of the ecological green tourism development project conducted so far on Nangdo. We hope it will be a romantic festival that brings vitality to island residents and joy to tourists," adding, "We will do our best in quarantine and safety measures."
