Driving Organizational Atmosphere Change Centered on the MZ Generation
[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] On the 9th, Gangjin County in Jeonnam held a weekly work report meeting presided over by County Governor Gang Jin-won, attended by MZ generation members from each department to facilitate communication.
This meeting was organized as a forum where Gang Jin-won, the county governor, Deputy Governor Yu Mi-ja, and MZ generation practitioners representing each office and division shared major county administration issues and discussed work promotion.
Governor Gang Jin-won aimed to improve the conventional uniform executive meetings attended by heads of offices and divisions by having MZ generation practitioners attend on the second and fourth weeks of each month to share current tasks.
The work report meeting attended by MZ generation practitioners, generally referring to those born from the 1980s to the early 2000s, is an unprecedented meeting not seen in other cities or counties.
The practitioners directly explained their responsibilities and engaged in two-way communication through discussions with the governor, creating an opportunity to narrow the gap between the governor and the MZ generation.
In particular, this meeting emphasized the importance of integrating current tasks with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Governor Gang Jin-won stated, “By incorporating the Fourth Industrial Revolution into projects such as the support program for farmers and fishermen’s public interest allowances or the temporary emergency living support fund for low-income households, assistance for those with mobility difficulties can be processed more easily.” He added, “It is important to actively promote county administration by uploading videos and posts about the ongoing tasks and to raise awareness of one’s work through two-way communication with residents.”
Attending staff said, “At first, it felt burdensome to report directly to the governor instead of the department head, but after participating, it was good to have the opportunity to speak directly and beneficial to express opinions about our responsibilities.”
