[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Korea IBM announced on the 10th that it will support LG CNS's global service-oriented software (SaaS) integrated platform ‘SINGLEX’ Equipment Management System (EMS) in entering the domestic and international equipment management markets.
LG CNS SINGLEX is a platform that integrates and provides global SaaS services in business areas such as sales, manufacturing, purchasing, human resources, and quality. IBM provides the world-renowned equipment management solution Maximo Enterprise Asset Management application to SINGLEX.
IBM Maximo EAM is an asset management lifecycle and workflow process management system that enables more efficient management and control by providing insights into enterprise assets, conditions, and work processes. Based on the Maximo solution, LG CNS developed the cloud-based subscription SaaS SINGLEX EMS.
Since 2020, IBM has collaborated with LG CNS to support the operation and management of the SINGLEX EMS platform. By applying optimized standard equipment management processes to client companies, it has elevated their equipment management levels, and when functional upgrades occur, these upgrades can be easily reflected across all client companies.
The company explained that by registering only the standard equipment management information, work can be performed quickly on-site, and since it is subscription-based with payment only for usage without initial investment, work and cost efficiency are maximized. Additionally, by unifying services into a single window, not only has quality improved, but also the training and retention of specialized personnel have become possible, resulting in enhanced customer service.
Building on these achievements, the two companies plan to expand their entry into domestic and international markets through the SINGLEX platform. To this end, they have increased comprehensive cooperation in technology, marketing, and sales related to the equipment management SaaS business. It is expected that there will be high demand from companies in the early stages of establishing equipment management processes or those concerned about costs.
Yeo Hwi, Head of IBM Asia Pacific Sustainability Software Division, said, “It is especially meaningful that we can actively support domestic and international market entry based on successful collaboration with LG CNS,” adding, “Based on IBM’s global leadership and expertise, we will spare no investment and support to ensure that the SINGLEX EMS platform operates more strategically and efficiently.”
Oh Jinseop, Head of Smart Factory Implementation at LG CNS, stated, “The SINGLEX EMS platform is an optimized equipment management platform that can be utilized by each company as a one-stop solution without separate investment or additional function development. Based on the expanded IBM technology support system, we will continue to improve the SINGLEX EMS SaaS service.”
